“Wild Wonderful Fibers” is a brief survey of contemporary West Virginia fiber artists that features work by Elaine Bliss, Cyndi Bolt, John Bernatitus, Lynn Creamer, Michael Davis, Susan Feller, Victoria Fergus, Lori Flood, Jane Frenke, Sharon Goeres, Laurie Gundersen, Betty McMullen, Cynthia Myerberg, Liz Nutter, Lisbet Okun, Kim Potter and Amy Williams. The exhibition is the second of six showings throughout West Virginia. Others create wearable art that feature creative contemporary designs. Several of the artists use a conceptual or post-modern approach to their pieces.

Oh Good God, Marke Wolfe and Amy Williams yet again!

  2. Anonymous Says:

Yes, busy little self-promoters aren’t they?

    Dear Anonymous:

There is a difference between making bitchy, catty comments about local artists and accusing someone of plagiarism/stealing in their art as you do. Anonymously– so bold! Comment dispatched to the ether. You are welcome to make more of a specific argument about the issue of artistic appropriation, using your own name. love, the gazz lady

    Sorry I missed that one!

  5. Wednesday's Child Says:

‘Tis a shame the MIC is closed. I could have used some fiber in my diet.

I miss the Museum in the Community too….perhaps it was the fiber show that closed the museum…the show was a mix of real artists and people who simply announce they are artists….we’ve seen that done before.

At least these people are really trying to do something. Like showing ART.

Remember this, there will always be mean people
who have little else to do but smoke a butt and then grinded it out on your rug.

I am sorry to say, that allowing someone in any forum (blog or whatever)to have (Anonymous Say :) or a mask is wrong and is doing a disservice to the pubic and the individual. Freedom of speech means being responsable for what you say.

It would be good to have real criticism bad, good and indifferent on the art.Think about why you like it or don’t, but look at it. Having a set voices talking, expressing and writing about art can make forum worth participating in.

    Thank you for your time.

Another Anonymous comment has been dispatched to the void by someone doing a drive-by shooting of two artists in the fiber show, comparing them to a former couple locally. The post managed nothing but two hits of personal character assassination from behind the screen of anonymity. Yes, yes, the Gazz Lady rules with an velvet gloved iron fist. But, hey, you bold Anonymouses — what if we named your birth names and said you were shysters, weasels and amoral opportunists. No, of course, you’re not. Love, gazz lady
