Thanks for the comments Ron! I really like a lot of the info on Beeradvocate, but you are right about the vitriol. Usually Chris Workman is our resident vitriol spewer here, though he has been subdued of late. I know Chris and we still can hoist pints together. He just likes to stir it up.

Keep reading and contributing with your comments...

Okay's is in the former Blues Etc, former Top Cats, former Chef Dan's - across the street from the Clay Centre on Leon Sullivan Way. Better than most in WV? I can't say. I can say that it is better than any in the Kanawha Valley. I'm not sure that they have a happy hour, though they really should.

I really enjoy reading your blog and everyone's replies. I also sometimes check out beeradvocate's forum posts, but they seem to unfortunately turn to fellow advocates cutting each other down and smart-a$$ remarks. The general demeanor on this blog seems so much more positive. We are all fighting for the same thing.....good beer and good places to enjoy it. Keep up the great work.
P.S. - where is Okay's, when is their Happy Hour, and is their selection better than most in WV ?

Rich: Blog block is real! I have it all the time. Fortunately, when that happens to me I simply uncork (or unscrew) a bottle of wine and allow myself a prudent sip. This seems to magically provide the necessary cerebral lubrication to unlock my feeble brain. I'm sure the fermented barley water you consume has the same effect. It must - cause you sure can blog with the best of them!
