Charleston-based rockers The Concept are featured on the latest webcast of ‘Radio Free Charleston’ at thegazz.com

West Virginia’s wildest, most original webcast, Radio Free Charleston, is back with a vengeance with its first new show of 2007 at thegazz.com. Show 13 features the accomplished, often twisted animation of Frank Panucci, brother of ‘Radio Free’ host Rudy Panucci, including puppets run wild. There’s also some spacey, sea-shanty music by Charleston-based busker duo Martytranny’s Collective Pulse, performing a song titled “Breathing Banshee” (and you’ll hear why). Plus, drink in “Guitar Pick in My Kool-Aid” by Charleston rockers The Concept. (It’s a D’Addario light-medium .027 mm pick, to be specific). Watch the show by clicking here or heading to the gazzTV page, where we archive all Charleston Gazette webcasts.

Know the area club scene? Do you have wide-ranging tastes in music? More importantly — can you write worth a damn? Thegazz.com is on the hunt for some new additions to its LocalMusic blog. You’ll cover live and local music coming to area clubs and stages. You’ll keep readers informed on upcoming shows in the Charleston-Huntington area. You’ll even get paid, if you become a regular contributor.

Send two or more samples of how you’d write about music to gazz@wvgazette.com, with the Subject line: LocalMusic blogging. Include a daytime phone. And, yes, you should reside in the area and know the clubs and stages of which ye write.
