EVENT: The Dig-Its/Monotonix @ the Parrot 10.23 show

A rare Tuesday night show @ the Parrot is in store on Oct. 23, with The Dig-Its welcoming Tel Aviv’s own Monotonix to town for a night of straight up rock. We decided to get a little something on the show from Dig-Its drummer Bob Caution. He filled us in on how the show got lined up…

“We played a show with them in Morgantown last year when they were touring. I don’t know if it was their first tour or not. We played @ Fuel, which should be called Rocket Fuel, because it felt like they were burning it in the club. It had to be at least 105 degrees in there. No joke. Cool place otherwise.

Anyways, they had asked us to play and we said yeah and rolled on up to Morgantown. They squished two shows together as well. It was our show and a couple of metal bands whose names I can’t remember, and it was billed as “The greatest metal show on earth,” which Paul [Sex Viper] and I thought was hilarious.”

“It did turn out to be a great time though. The Monotonix are an amazing band. We are really looking forward to playing with them again.”

— To run in conjunction with our imagined video for “Another Shot” we decided to see what each member would have at the bar. If you see them @ the show hook them up. Except for one…

Mean Jean: Shot of room temperature whiskey, preferably Woodford Reserve or Jim Beam; Heineken and/or Blue Moon. Mainly beer and whiskey.

Sex Viper: Gin & Tonic

Bore Fang: (Cell phone problems. Guess he’s designated driver this time)

Harshbringer: PBR

Bob Caution: At the Parrot it’s Whiskey Sour or PBR. But the best drink ever is the Picard. (Named after Captain Jean Luc). It’s made of any canned juice, ice and vodka.

— Look for more on these acts in the print Gazz 10/18.
