WEEKEND WATCH: 11/16-17

Being in the news game, it’s our job to bring you the nuts and bolts of local show-related music events. We’re only as good as the information we get, but when it comes to going to local shows, it’s simple. Leave your car at the house and ride yer donkey. After you’ve converted your dollars into some other currency, you’re ready to go to a show.

There are a couple of nice looking shows between Charleston and Huntington over the weekend that Friends of Gatecrasher might like. Read on to find out who’s playing…

Friday, Nov. 16
Threefold Theory comes to the Sound Factory with TBA (they rock) and by god if you haven’t taken our advice yet and checked them out now. You can see them at the Gatecrasher in video form from the Regatta. But you can check them out in real life at the bar (812 Kan. Blvd.). Show starts at 10 p.m. and you should probably pay the equivalent of five U.S. bucks.
Andrew Della Cagna @ Yesterday's

Saturday, Nov. 17
Black Knots and Lords of the Highway @ the Glass.

Lords of the Highway

This looks to be a killer rock show. Get there before 10 p.m. and buy the Knots a drink, if they are so inclined…

Straight outta Ontario Canada, Evans Blue comes to Paradox Rift in Huntington this Saturday with Neurosonic, Framing Hanley, and Saving Abel. Show apparently starts @ 8 pm. Paradox Rift is a new bar located at 2127 Manchester Ave. $12 adv., $15 at the door.

Luke Jivetalker and Bud Carroll and the Southern Souls @ V Club (741 6th Ave.). Bluesy rock is in store for patrons of this club we’ve heard nothing but good things about. We’d definitely go to this show if we were in the area. 8 pm

[…] Gatecrasher has a rundown of the rock shows in town that I can’t make it to because I’m still paying for the tobacco exposure I suffered last weekend.   You can also find a nifty interview with drummer Daniel Johnson there.  Over at Soundcheck, you can find a new song by Sarah White. […]
