OK - not that any 24 fans are reading this, but I’ve got to vent. So Jack Bauer retrieves the recording that implicates the president. He has it in his hands while they’re on board a plane that’s going to be shot down in 8 minutes. Don’t you think it might occur to him at some point to hold the little recorder up to the phone and hit PLAY? Sheesh. I love this show, but I’m starting to hate it, too. And being forced to look at that jagged Audrey in lingerie was painful. Someone needs to feed that girl.
Now about Grey’s Anatomy. It’s another show I both love and hate. It’s like Friends and ER mashed together. This past Sunday night’s episode was totally offensive. As soon as I heard the people being wheeled in on stretchers talking with exaggerated Southern accents, I knew it was going to be bad. I can’t do the Mamma/Daddy/Sugah thing. I hoped they’d step away from the noble-but-stupid-but-noble stereotype, but that was apparently too much of a stretch for the writers. And the voice-over thing Meredith does at the beginning and end of each show–does someone really get paid to write that?

I don’t watch “24″, but “Grey’s Anatomy” is getting to be way over the top. With all the bed-hopping and everyone worrying about with whom everyone else is sleeping, I’m surprised the hospital staff can find time to actually practice medicine. And what does it matter where George lives? Oh well, it’s only TV.

You watch Grey’s Anatomy? I’m shocked! I thought it was nothing but “American Idol” for you.
I think Grey’s Anatomy is a good example of what you get from hiring too young of writers. Their own world is still that small.

I admit it–I’m hooked. I dont watch much TV, but “Grey’s” and “Idol” are two that I do watch. Speaking of AI–for the record, as a rule I don’t care much for Elliots’ genre and I’ve never been much of an Elvis fan, but he kicked @$$ last night. Taylor’s gotta go soon, Chris did his best Elvis impersonation (and managed to not sound like Creed in the process), and Katharine, according to audience reaction, gave a better performance than the judges gave her credit for on her first selection. Things could get very interesting from here on out! Just my two cents worth…

All my Idol fan friends are predicting Katherine is out. I actually recorded it last night, but haven’t seen it yet. I’m a fan with this like I am with college basketball–I don’t like to watch until it gets near the end.
I started watching Grey’s Anatomy because it came on in the time slot where I was accustomed to watching Boston Legal (which has replaced both 24 and LOST as my favorite show).

“Boston Legal” is one of my shows, too. What did you think of the new character introduced last night?
I don’t know about Katharine–I tried voting for her on and off for the whole two hour period last night last night, and never did get through. She didn’t have a great night, but overall I think she has the best voice. She is obviously very pretty, too, and anyone who think looks don’t count in the music business is kidding only themself. Personally, I think it will come down to Chris and Katharine. From there, it’s anyones guess.

My husband has sworn off AI forever and ever, amen! lol After Chris was voted off he said he will never watch another episode (betcha anything he’ll watch the beginning of the season though, it’s too funny to NOT watch). I don’t know who I’m pulling for now…
As for Grey’s Anatomy… I’m glad I wasn’t the only one irritated with the writing this time around.

So much for my “Idol” predictions. I was on my way to Columbus last night, when my daughter called to give me the results. I was shocked, but probably not so much so as Chris was. I watched the show on tape this evening, and thought Katharines’ reaction was dramatic, too–I think she expected to get the ax. As for predictions, I’ll have to watch nest weeks perofrmances before going out on another limb.
