So maybe I should be blaming the surgeon? It took 6 days before I felt like myself again, and I'm still napping like a granny every day. About time for it now, come to think of it. The jay was thrown out of its nest by its mamma because it was covered with bugs. My mom cleaned it up and it attached itself to her for its entire life (about 12 years). It got outside several times, but didn't like it. I guess it was too scary. We had another jay when I was a kid that we allowed to go in and out as it pleased. It ended up being the only pet we ever had that was killed by a car. This one in the pictures died of pneumonia when he was ancient (but still ornery). I like that — the ground is getting harder!
