This conference features many of the most celebrated writers working today, including Yusef Komunyakaa, Sharon Olds, E.L. Doctorow, Louise Gluck, Joyce Carol Oates, James Tate, Billy Collins, Robert Bly, Claudia Emerson, C.K. Williams, Galway Kinnell, Robert Pinsky and many others.

The programs range from “Re-imagining New Orleans” to “Indigenous Poets,” “A Tribute to Russell Edson,” “The J in Literary Journalism: Research and Reporting Skills in the Context of Creative Writing Programs” and many more.

Jeff Mann and other members of Virginia Tech’s creative writing community will present “Absent Friends — Virginia Tech Memorial Reading,” remembering “those they lost on April 16, 2007.”

By the way, as I noted a few posts ago, Mann grew up in Virginia and West Virginia, and has degrees in English and forestry from West Virginia University.
