POETRY AND POLITICS: Now entering the silly season

Since we’ve now officially entered the silly season of presidential politics, with the Iowa caucuses and this weekend the New Hampshire debates and the first state primary coming up on Tuesday, two apt quotes seem in order, things to keep in mind while we listen to all those promises.
