WORLD POETRY DAY: March 21
World Poetry Day is coming up on March 21. The purpose of the day is to promote poetry around the world.
Even though World Poetry Day has been celebrated for a long time, UNESCO declared the day in 1999 “to give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movements.”

Quote for those wanting to free their imaginations
“I thought I wouldn’t write a poem, but just write what I wanted to without fear, let my imagination go, open secrecy and scribble magic lines from my real mind — sum up my life — something I wouldn’t be able to show anybody.”
– Allen Ginsberg, on his turning away from academic forms
