The event features Kanawha Valley’s emerging poets, singers, musicians, and spoken word artists who speak from the heart about love, dreams, self-respect, politics and everything that makes today’s world a fascinating, complex place.

We invite you not only to attend this event but to participate in a local celebrity Political Haiku Slam. This is just another way to reach out to your community and creatively share your opinions just days before the election!

Hosting the event will be the new Covenant House Assistant Director, Crystal Good, a well-known poetry organizer, and Randy Elsea, Drop In Center Coordinator and notorious comic.

The casual event is sponsored by Covenant House, the West Virginia Poetry Society, the Keep Your Faith Corporation, the West Virginia Mental Health Consumers Association, and the MiC Group.

Admission is free but we ask that you bring laundry soap powder to benefit the Covenant House Drop In Center.

The Covenant House is located at 600 Shrewsbury Street (parking in rear of building). To RSVP or for more information, contact Crystal at cgood@wvcovenanthouse.org, (304) 344-8053, ext 24.

See you there!
