[...] Another of Charleston’s most original bands is The Synergy Collective. We recorded them at the benefit for Emily Gunter-Haynes at the Blue Parrot back in early March. This was the first time they’d performed the song “Awry,” and it was also one of the few times I’ve seen the guys playing electric guitars. You can see and hear this exciting band Saturday night at Capitol Roasters Cafe. Mel and I plan to be there, and it’ll be a fun night of great music. TSC were previously on episodes 33 and 36 of RFC. [...]

[...] All the proceeds from the Monday Morning Art Store will go to Emily and her husband, Jeff, as they deal with her debilitating illness. In addition, the PopCult Store will become a storehouse for the pieces I previously created for the benefit, and all proceeds from the PopCult Store will also go to Emily and Jeff until further notice. You can read more about the awesome day of music and art for Emily here. So, now you have an added incentive to check out the Monday Morning Art store, and The PopCult store. And click on the image for a larger version. [...]

[...] We captured The Spurgie Hankins Band at The Blue Parrot, during the benefit for Emily Gunter-Haynes, which you can read about here. You can read about an ongoing art benefit here. I also need to apologize to Spurgie and the boys again for mis-spelling their MySpace address on the screen during the intro and their song. Click on the link above to go to their webpage. I’ve been trying to get Spurgie on the show for some time, but we could never make our schedules connect. Luckily, in addition to “Bullets and Fire,” I was able to snag two additional tunes that will be seen on future editions of RFC.
What a wonderful day at the Blue Parrot! After just coming off of the "flu funk" that went around, this day served as such a rejuvination for me. All the musicians gave their all, and the art was uplifting to benefit Emily and Jeff!

Thanks for documenting it for everyone, Rudy.

[...] Today’s art is “Spewtube.” This is part of the series of prints that was to be auctioned off for the benefit of Emily Gunter-Haynes. Pressing time issues kept that from happening, but we’re working on an alternate way to let these works benefit Emily. While we’re still working on the “big announcement,” I can tell you that all the proceeds from the Monday Morning Art Store featuring this artwork will go to Emily and her husband, Jeff, as they deal with a debilitating illness. In addition, the PopCult Store will become a storehouse for the pieces I created for the benefit, and all proceeds from the PopCult Store will go to Emily and Jeff until further notice. You can read more about the awesome day of music and art for Emily here.
