Tanned, rested and ready…

nixon-elvis.jpgSorry, I haven’t been around. I was on vacation last week and really sort of stayed away from blogging, in general. I’m not exactly the only one. It always seems like right at the cusp of a major season shift -Winter to Spring, Fall to Winter -bloggers start dropping off for a while. Some of my favorites have slacked off. I slacked off, but after shaking off whatever poison potion we all seemed to have swallowed, I think most everyone is getting back to business. Tomorrow, I’ll even mention a new blog you should take a look at. No foolin.

A couple of unrelated updates in the world of all things strange…

– For your reading pleasure, pick up a copy of Graffiti. Graffiti has a so-so interview with hot alternative band Spoon. Read then try to figure out where and when the band is playing in West Virginia. If you can figure it out, let me know.

– On the upside Josh Ritter is playing the V-club in Huntington in May. Ritter’s “The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter” album is amazing. Ritter played “Mountain Stage” last fall and reportedly was disappointed when he couldn’t get to a Tudor’s Biscuit World before he left. That’s practically makes him a local as far as I’m concerned.

– It’s political season and visits from the Obama and the Clinton family singers are on the rise. Some bloggers have already chimed in about the rallies or speeches they attended and what they got out of them. So far, the few I’ve read, Bill comes out pretty well. The bloggers seem to be OK with Obama, too.

tw_monster.jpg– Not reading a lot about Senators Clinton or McCain, however. She’s the Clinton actually running for election and Senator McCain hasn’t really felt the need to be around since he’s tied up his nomination.

Off the subject: why is it Monster Tweety reminds me of both Senator Clinton and Senator McClain at the same time?

Anyway, glad to be back.
