Hungry are the Damned.

homer-brain.jpgI follow a lot of local blogs… a lot…. of…. local…. blogs… Some I like more than others, but I read every one I can find. The good ones tend to last. The bad ones usually drop off after a couple of weeks or months or at least I pray they do. Many are about the life and leisure of the writer. The better ones have a specific theme in mind.

I am an unabashed fan of Hippie Killer and Raging Red. Both run fun blogs. HK’s 5th column is a kind of an ongoing conversation about politics and class warfare in Charleston. It’s one of the most widely read and influential blogs in the city. I like Red’s blog, when it’s active, because it branches out to social issues, national issues and occasionally rank silliness.

On an unrelated note: Red knows a good Mocha from a bad one and HK knows how to calculate a tip. Back in my coffee-slinging days (way back a whole 18 months ago), the pair bought some drinks from me. Neither died from the experience, so I figure I did OK.

morbius.jpgAnyway, the two of them have decided to do some food blogging. It may be a little treasonous from this side. The Gazz online has a very readable and entertaining food blog. For the sake of my continued employment, everyone should go read it every… single… day. But after you do that, check out Hungry are the damned.

Only slightly less than football, politics and the damned user fee, people love to talk food.

Hey, thanks for the shout-out, Bill! I’m taking a little hiatus right now, but hope to get back on the blogging horse soon. I too recommend the Gazz food blog (I feel for them, because I know how hard it can be to blog about food in a place with such limited restaurant choices).

‘Hungry are the Damned’ is a lot of fun, to be sure. It’s also safe to say that Hippie Killer and Raging Red are all-stars in the Blog-O-Sphere. Nice to send props in their direction, Uncle Bill.

I also wholeheartedly agree that the Gazz food blog is “very readable and entertaining.” :-)
