I remember Grandma I's version of the stuff - which was called Anisette - and which was used only to soothe our upset stomachs when we were kids. Grandma hid the elixir in a closet under a pile of blankets. Don't ask how I know this. So whenever I think of Sambucca, I am reminded of stomach aches! I gotta admit, though, I certainly prefered the Anisette/Sambucca "medicine" to the awful Cod Liver Oil that she dispensed to us for just about every other ailment. Good to hear from you!
