Colin: Absolutely. Gewurztraminer - especially the stuff made in Alsace - is lovely with the spiciness of dressing and the bird's dark meat. However, it might be tricky tasting it next to a red because, in this instance, it might overwhelm something like pinot noir or be upstaged by a fuller-bodied wine such as cabernet. So, you might consider it either as a stand alone or as an aperitif before the great meal. In that instance, I would advise using a lithter, sweeter version of the wine, such as one produced in Washington State or California. Ah, so many wines, so little time!!

In any event, have a great Thanksgiving and give my best to Liz and Jackson.

Uncle Bob,
What about Gewurztraminer (along side a glass of red) with the Thanksgiving feast? It was recommended to me years ago for Thanksgiving; what do you think?
