Glenville State College supporting WV filmmakers

Virginia Yeager, staff librarian at Glenville State College, attended my annual “New Films from West Virginia and Appalachia” workshop that I present at the annual state library conference in Flatwoods. Unlike most attendees over the last 3 decades, she really decided to check out a wide array of the new films, including the new “Coal Hollow” kit that I brought along.

The new WV items  she previewed include, audio movie, “When Miners March,” “God’s Gift of a Wild and Wonderful Land,” “The Last Campaign,” “Benched,” “The Devil and Daniel Johnston,” “Coal Camp Memories,” audio of “The Last Forest,” “”Christmas Family Tragedy” and “The Historic National Road in WV.” The library plans on purchasing “When Miners March,” “Coal Camp Memories,” and “Benched” this summer and possibly others in the future. Congrats to Ms. Yeager and the Glenville State College Library…..I hope that other WV college and university libraries do likewise and provide world-class materials about their own backyard by people who also live in it with them.
