Gray Barker - West Virginia UFO Legend- two films

Friday, August 17th, 2007

whisperslabellesign.jpg Ralph Coon came to WV in 1994, working on a feature documentary about WV’s most famous UFO expert, Gray Barker. For a year I helped him as much as I could and then I programmed the world premiere at the Spring WV International Film Festival in
Charleston. Michael Lipton put the film on the cover of Graffiti magazine - the ONLY film ever to grace its cover under the control of Mr. Lipton. I have told a thousand people about the film….and now Bob Wilkinson, one of WVPBS’s best young filmmakers, is making a new, updated film about our own world-famous legend. He will present clips on Saturday, September 8th, at 7 PM at The South Charleston Museum. More below….

Dave Cooper’s Mountaintop Removal Road Show

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Friends of the Appalachian Mountains,

The cicadas are singing, the compost pile is putting out lots of volunteer squash and gourds, and the ironweed is almost nine feet tall with bright purple blossoms, so I guess that summer is starting to wind down.  In September I’m going out on the road again with the Mountaintop Removal Road Show, and I’d love to come and speak to your college, community or church group this fall.

If you would like to book the Mountaintop Removal Road Show, please email me back and we will make all the arrangements.  I’m a full time unpaid volunteer fighting this horrible coal mining practice - there is no charge for the presentation, but donations for gas and travel expenses are gratefully accepted.  I have a few speaking gigs lined up already - you can check my current speaking schedule on my website:
