Facets Multimedia in Chicago is perhaps the best single source for the best films ever made - foreign, independent, cult, etc. In 2000 they asked me to be included in their global survey of “Top Ten Films” by great film directors, film experts, and others. I was proud to be the only librarian whose list was included.

 Other people whose lists were publish include Father Andrew Greeley, the famous Chicago priest/author, Werner Herzog, Dusan Makavejev (who directed one of my two fav films, WR: Mysteries of the Organism), John Sayles, Stephen Sondheim, Susan Sontag, Studs Terkel.
