Ross Ballard, president of WV’s only audio book company, MountainWhispers.com, worked on with the people who produced the very popular History Channel program, “Hillbilly - the Real Story.” They continue to air it on a regular basis. You can purchase an autographed copy of the DVD from Ross at his website.

Here is an interesting comment by Wess Harris, publisher of William C. Blizzard’s landmark book, “When Miners March.”

A good program that would earn 5 stars save for the title. A bit heavy on moon shine and fast cars, but the section on the Mine War was far and away the best info available in video.
Two mistakes deserve correction. Willliam C. Blizzard is listed as being William Blizzard , Jr.. WCB has never used a Jr. in his name and fears the mistake could hinder folks seeking to find his book, WHEN MINERS MARCH. The show also lists the Red Neck Army as having only hunting rifles and small cal. pistols. Nothing could be further from the truth. The majority of the miners were likely armed with military weapons. The ‘03
Springfield being the weapon of choice–available at the time for $1.98 surplus!! The miners also had a limited number of machine guns captured during the March. The show makes up for these errors by giving(for the first time on screen) credit to the efforts of Bill Blizzard as leader of the Red Neck Army.”
